HIGHER EDUCATION

The Centre’s staff lead in the Australian University sector.

Through CQUniversity, the Centre is involved in the delivery of a suite of Higher Education options.
These include:

  • An Undergraduate unit of study available to students enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree course, or as a stand alone unit;
  • A range of speciality postgraduate units of study across topics such as working with children, sexual violence, working with men.  These units are available as stand alone units, or as core/ elective units for students enrolled in a Postgraduate course.
  • A variety of Postgraduate courses in domestic and family violence practice and facilitating men’s behaviour change.

COURSE WORK

Domestic and Family Violence is now recognised as one of Australia’s most challenging social issues.  There are many agencies which provide responses to the needs of victims and their children.  As well, there is growing interest in working with perpetrators of violence to effect change.

The Graduate Certificate in Domestic and Family Violence Practice provides you with the chance to develop your skills and understanding of key practice areas in relation to domestic and family violence.

CORE UNITS
  • Domestic and Family Violence Theories and Perspectives
  • Domestic and Family Violence Responses and Interventions
  • Advanced Studies in Domestic and Family Violence Practice
ADDITIONAL UNITS

 Students must also complete one of the following units:

  • Child Safety and Family Violence Theories and Perspectives
  • Working with Victims/ Survivors of Domestic and Family Violence
  • Men’s Behaviour Change Interventions and Practice
