The first round of project consultations was completed in October. Regional Forums were held in ten locations across Queensland as well as targeted consults and focus groups in multiple locations. There was a great mix of DFV funded services and other agencies working in the sector that took time from their hectic schedules to contribute.

Many people travelled considerable distances to directly provide their input and engage with their colleagues in these productive discussions. Numerous participants commented on the value of having the opportunity for face-to-face contact that they believe contributes to strengthening relationships and partnerships across the sector.

The “harvesting” of practice wisdom through these consultations is a significant source of evidence in developing the new practice standards and the project team are looking forward to the second round of consultations commencing on 9 November in Cairns.
